Jurgen Klopp angrily confronted referee who was willing to take charge of Liverpool against Arsenal
Liverpool host Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday in a game that could have implications for the title race as well as the battle for the Top 4, but Jurgen Klopp will face a referee who saw him narrowly miss an FA ban.
Paul Tierney will be the official at Anfield for the visit of Mikel Arteta's team. The Gunners will look to extend their lead at the top of the English top flight over their nearest rivals Manchester City.
City travel to Southampton on Saturday night in a bid to cut the gap on the north London club to just five points. The Reds already enjoyed a successful record against Arsenal before losing 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium earlier this season.
Referee Tierney was responsible only for the Citizens and in his intermediate career he is now more assertive for Watford than for Liverpool.
But he and Klopp have history.

Carragher x Neville VI
Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville fell out over Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane's behavior which led to Abdoulaye Doucoure's red card.
The Everton midfielder was sent off shortly before the end of the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park after making contact after being punched in the face by the England captain. Minutes after the visitors opened up a one-man lead, striker Jordan Pickford sent it the wrong way after Michael Keane brought down Christian Romero.
Sean Dyche was at the forefront of the incident, which saw Demarai Gray stumble in front of the focal point as Kane and Doucoure collided with the former and pulled the 30-year-old's shirt off before reacting in what was deemed an offense by referee David Coote.

Johnson: Klopp still the man for this
Glen Johnson believes Jurgen Klopp remains the right man to lead the club after its difficult phase.
After Graham Potter was sacked after just six months, the German was forced to question his future, but he remains defiant and the former defender still feels like "the man who can do it".
He saidbet DAZN: “I definitely think he's still the man for this. He has not lost his ability to train or motivate players. When Liverpool were at their peak, pressure from him was ridiculous and God knows what their running numbers were.
"It's very difficult to maintain that level with the same group of players that you had there. They almost have to rebuild and bring in new players who will embrace their philosophy the same way most of this group of players did from day one.
“You're almost in the same position you were when he signed; it's like he's back in position and needs to rebuild the club and take it to greater heights again. He needs to rebuild that team, remove them and so on could have a lot more faces.
"This team cannot have problems in their current position, they are much better. And he is still the same coach who has achieved, perhaps even overcome so much with this team."

make changes?
It would be a surprise not to see Darwin Nunez back in Liverpool's starting line-up at Stamford Bridge tonight after the striker had to settle for a place in Manchester City's substitutes on Saturday.
Diogo Jota started in his place and the Portugal international is struggling to score after failing to score in his last 30 games for the Reds.

good future
he reports itdaily mailthat Liverpool are looking to sign a goalkeeper in the summer, while Irish star Caoimhin Kelleher is set to go in search of a starting line-up.
Kelleher didn't do anything wrong at Anfield, in fact he always jumped at the chance when it came along, but it's impossible to pass up Alisson Becker.
Most likely, Liverpool intends to bring a young prisoner and become the Brazilian's number two.

If Pep Guardiola had made Liverpool root for me, I would have ended up with a 10-match suspension.
It was always a big challenge to beat Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
The end result didn't come as a big surprise to many fans given the recent performances, but we started well away from home for a change with Mohamed Salah scoring the opener. There was much talk of the loss of Erling Haaland before the game, but that changed little in the end, with Julián Álvarez impressing. I think Jurgen was very brave to play the two of them in midfield which ultimately backfired as they continued to play one on one against Robertson and Trent as we put pressure on their back line to stop them going out.
City gained more space in the second half and when they scored the first two goals after the break, the game was over. One of the goals they scored they completed with about 20 passes and not a single tackleLiverpoolthe player entered. You're on board, which shows where we are.
